On Friday, the S&P 500 rallied over 1% following a “goldilocks” jobs report leaving the index up modestly for the week, closing right at its 50d ma. It looks like the index will clear that level this morning as S&P futures are currently trading ~0.4% above fair-value, with Russell 2k futures up about twice that amount. Treasury yields are extending to the downside lower by 3-5bps across the curve, the sixth decline in the last seven days. It is another reasonably quiet start to the week with Japan, Korea and the UK closed for holidays. Berkshire Hathaway (+1%) put up solid results over the weekend helped by strength in its insurance business. Apple (<-1%) is modestly lower as the firm trimmed its position.
